Delete and restore a team

In Motiff, once a team is deleted, it will be removed from all team members.

Deleting a team will also delete all files and projects within the team. If you want to keep any files or projects within the team, we recommend moving these files and projects to another team or drafts before deleting the team.

Restoring a team will restore all files and projects within the team. The original team members, project members, and file members will all regain their original permissions.

Delete Team

  1. 1.Click '16_panel_more.svg' on the top right corner of the team space or right-click on the team name in the sidebar to open the dropdown menu.
  2. 2.Select Delete team… from the menu.
  3. 3.Motiff will ask for confirmation of this action, you can enter the team name and click Delete team.

When deleting a team, Motiff will:

  • Remove all team members.
  • Delete all files and projects (which cannot be recovered from the Trash).
  • Email the team owner and admins to inform them of the team deletion.

Restore Team

After a team is deleted, Motiff will email the team owner and administrators to inform them of the team deletion. In the email, Motiff will include a link to restore the team.

  1. 1.Open the confirmation email and click on the restore link in the email.
  2. 2.Click Restore on the new page to confirm.
  3. 3.Motiff will immediately restore the team and redirect to the team page.

Note: The link to restore the team will expire 30 days after the team is deleted, after which Motiff will delete it permanently. This action cannot be undone.

Change the ownership of a team

The person who creates the team will automatically become the team owner. If the owner needs to leave the team or wants to transfer the assets to someone else, they can transfer the team ownership.

Motiff allows the current owner to transfer the team to any existing member, including members with Can view permissions.
