Copy assets between design tools

If your workflow requires the usage of multiple design tools, you will need to move design assets between Motiff and other design tools.

Motiff supports the SVG format for making the copying of content between design tools easier.

Note: Moving vector content between different tools means describing the vector in different formats, which often results in damage.

Import to Motiff

Motiff supports copying content as SVG or exporting as SVG files before pasting or importing it in other design tools.

By this means, you can import icons, illustrations, layers, groups, or entire frames.

  1. 1.Select the content you want to import to Motiff in other design tools.
  2. 2.Copy the content to the clipboard in SVG format, or save it as an SVG file:
    • In AI, you can use the copy feature directly.
    • In Figma, you can use the copy as SVG feature.
    • In Sketch, you can use the copy SVG code feature.
    • In XD, you can use the copy SVG code feature.
  3. 3.Open the Motiff file, paste the copied SVG into the frame, or complete the import by copying the SVG file.

Export from Motiff

Similar to importing to Motiff, you can copy layers as SVG or export SVG files in Motiff, then paste or drag them into AI, Figma, Sketch, or XD to complete the import.

Additionally, you can export Motiff files to Sketch format by clicking Main menu - File - Save as Sketch file… .
