Important notes

Downgrading from a professional plan to a starter plan will result in the following changes for your team:

  • File limit: Your team can only have three files with a maximum of three pages per design file on a starter plan. If the number of files and pages in your team exceeds the limits, you can still view and edit existing files, but you'll be unable to create new ones.
  • Project limit: Your team can only have one project on a starter plan. If your team has more than one project when you downgrade, you can still view and edit files in the existing projects, but you’ll be unable to create new projects.
  • Version history: On a starter plan, your team can view a file’s version history for up to 30 days only.

If you want to continue downgrading your team to a starter plan, we recommend you to do the following before cancelling your professional plan subscription:

  • Move up to three Motiff design files into one project.
  • Remove extra pages in a design file to make sure each file has a maximum of three pages.
  • Remove extra projects to make sure your team has a maximum of one project.
  • Move files to another team or to your drafts.
  • Download copies of your account invoices.

Team admins can cancel professional plan subscription and downgrade the team to the starter plan. The cancellation will take effect after the current billing period has ended.

Note: To delete your team, you need to cancel your professional plan subscription first.

FAQ

  1. 1.

Why was my subscription not upgraded to the professional plan after I paid the bill again following the downgrade due to the overdue payment for my professional plan? When your subscription is downgraded due to overdue payment, there is already an overdue balance of 14 days on your account. This means that you must first settle the overdue balance before you can upgrade back to Motiff's professional plan. However, since Motiff's minimum purchase period is one month, you need to pay for one month first. Motiff will refund the amount excluding the overdue balance back to your account in the form of credits, which can be used for your next payment. For example:

    • September 6th: You subscribed to a professional plan design seat, costing $5.
    • October 6th: Professional plan renewal of $5.

If you do not make the payment:

    • October 21st: Downgraded to starter plan due to overdue payment.
    • October 22nd: You try to upgrade to the professional plan again. You will need to first pay the overdue fee of $5. However, because the $5 payment is for one month of usage and you only used 14 days, we will refund $2.58 in credits to your account. Since you only paid the outstanding amount and not the fee to re-purchase the professional plan, you are still on the starter plan. You need to re-purchase the professional plan and use credits to offset the payment, resulting in an actual payment of $2.42. Your service period will extended until November 21.

In summary, since September 6, you paid a total of $12.42 for a service period of 2 months and 14 days.
