Multiplayer collaboration

Display of online users in files

In Motiff, files can be edited or viewed by multiple users at the same time.

You can see who is currently editing or viewing each file in the file list. 'Display of online users in files.png'

Motiff allows you to see other users who are accessing the file because the avatars of these people are displayed in the meantime. In addition, Motiff displays other users' cursors and selections on the canvas to facilitate collaboration. 'Multiplayers.png'

If you do not want to see other users' cursors, you can control whether to show multiplayer cursors in the following ways:

  • Use shortcuts:
    • macOS: ⌥ Option + ⌘ Command + \
    • Windows: Ctrl + Alt + \
  • From the main menu, select View and click Multiplayer cursors.

Follow others in a file

In the toolbar, click on another user's avatar to automatically follow them.

After following other in a file, your view of the canvas will change with the user you are following. This allows you to see all their actions in the canvas, including moving, zooming in, zooming out, and switching pages.

Motiff will highlight a border around your canvas in the same color as the avatar of the user you are following. You can see their names at the top of the canvas. 'Observation mode.png'

Tip: When you start following another user, Motiff will not notify that user, but your cursor position will be displayed. If the user being followed has multiplayer cursors enabled, they can see your cursor in their canvas view.

You can stop following others in ways listed below:

  • Change the canvas view, such as moving or zooming.
  • Edit the design content, such as drawing a new layer or moving layers.
